John and Hazel Wagner, owners of Beast Brewing Company, were both originally from New England where there is a rich beer culture. Throughout their lives together, they have been home brewing, traveling the country, visiting breweries and hiking. After many years working in restaurants and in corporate America, they decided to pursue their real dream of becoming small business owners of their very own microbrewery. So Hazel and John packed up their two small boys and two puggles and drove across the country to the beautiful mountain town of Bisbee, AZ. In fact, the company was named after the couples first son who was given the nickname Boo the Beast.
The Wagners incorporated on September 11, 2013, moved to Arizona and took ownership of the facility in late October 2013. They completed extensive renovations and opened their taproom doors in early March 2014.
